Realizing the Obvious
Hi Team – I cannot believe I’ve been in Atlanta for one month. It’s also been a long time since my last post. My bad! As a mature, I realize that life will pass you by in a blink of an eye.
I have realized a lot about myself since the move. Some are obvious:
- I love a big city. Growing up in a small town was wonderful, but cities have more options. I will never forget Friday or Saturday nights in a small town. They consisted of country music, laughs and love. It’s nothing like staying up until 3a with your best friends talking about life. I’ll revisit that life again one day.
- I enjoy Digital and Social Media. I mention a lot that I am obsessed with Digital and Social Media, but my new job made me realize how much I enjoy talking about these two subjects. My typical job description line, “You know the ads all over the internet that haunt you, well I strategically put them there for you to see.” The advertising industry has made me lose my hair, gain great friends, earn money, drink a lot, stress WAY more than drink, but overall I enjoy it.
Again, I have realized a lot about myself since my move. Some were NOT obvious:
- I will never be like them. I will never look like those guys in the gym that I aspire to be. I will never be in a bodybuilding show. I will never compete in a fitness/figure show. It will never be easy for me to have a six pack, but dammit…I am me.
I, LITERALLY, work my ass off and I have plenty of picture to prove it!
I am happy being me. It’s taken me 26 years to realize that I will not look like the guy on a cover of a magazine, and the size of my arms and legs should be reversed. (skinny arms, big legs)
I do not want to let life pass me by while I’m standing here worrying about the size of my arms. In the blink of an eye it will all be gone, so I am just thankful for a healthy body that keeps me going.
Stay healthy and appreciate your body.
